Printing problems Parts missing

Sketchup pro printing in ver 2025 is awful. Text over text and bits cut off, absolutely terrible. I have never come across such sloppy programming/drivers in my life. DOS 3.2, Windows 3.1 and every program that ran on those OS printed fine. All versions of Autocad printed/plotted fine with minimal adjustments. Autocad gave you many manual options so you could fix printing problems. Sketchup gives you absolutely zero options. For a 2025 program, its just pathetic. Please fix printing asap. We need to print accurate drawings.

Layout. layout is for printing.

OP’s profile says SketchUp for Higher EDU.

Does that come with Layout?

Come on, this is 2025. A program that can’t print direct is pathetic. The time required to just print so others can see the drawings isn’t justified. Direct printing needs to be fixed. Exporting to a 2D graphic and opening with Adobe and printing from there gives better results, and is this how we print drawings in Sketchup in 2025?

LayOut.

You don’t want to hear it, but if you are this angry about how it works think of it as the same program, like a plugin or a toolset that lets you print and dimension.

And if you setup templates for your workflow it will take less to ‘send to layout’ and it took me to type this post.

I think you fail to understand that SketchUp is the equivalent of ACAD’s modelspace and LayOut is the equivalent of ACAD’s paperspace. The devs decided to implement them as separate applications, each running in their own process.

Some of the printing options were recently removed from SketchUp in favor of putting the effort into maintaining and improving the print features in LayOut.

Who prints any longer? All my construction documents are distributed as PDF files. I have a printer at home, but I last used it several months ago, and not with SketchUp. The same goes for my colleagues at work.

@PaulMcAlenan yes.

Yea, it’s 2025 and most of the world believes that Greenland is HUGE (another 3D to 2D issue).

It is, but not that huge. Like our Lapland.
