Can I print lines only in Layout? I want to avoid printing background colour on white paper, to cut costs, as everything is printed in colour.
Yes. I do this most of the time with LayOut. Setup the style for the scenes in Sketchup to use Hidden Line and set the background color to white. Render your viewports in Vector mode and you’re all set.
Dave, thanks for this - I now have what looks like an AutoCad line drawing,
but when you set the background colour to white, how do you know that it
isn’t actually printing white? I also found that I couldn’t get the drop
down panel which contains scales unless I changed back to Raster mode…

The background shouldn’t print if it is white on white paper. You can also untick Background in the SketchUp inspector window’s Styles tab. That’ll make the background transparent.
The only time you should be able select a scale from the Scales list is if the viewport is set up for Parallel Projection. Raster and Vector have nothing to do with it.
You probably don’t want your private info posted out publicly, do you?
Hi Dave,
Thank you for all that information - it’s great to get it, as it can be
really frustrating not knowing how to make changes. What you suggested
works, and I’m not sure why I was having problems selecting the Scales
panel, but have managed to do so now. No, I don’t want my private info
publicly posted - was it?!
Regards,
Barbara

I’m happy that it helped.
I guess it’s just your company info.
