I’m designing a project using Sketchup Studio that involves several oval shapes, all of the same dimension. The oval shape is 15" long by 9.5" wide. I’d like to mosaic print the shape out on paper, glue it to a sheet of plywood, and cut along the paper lines to make a template for the parts to be used in the final project. However, I can’t seem to find any obvious option for printing an actual size rending for this purpose.
Is this possible to do in SketchUp, and if so, can someone point me in a direction to learn how to go about doing it?
SIAP, but I did a quick search and couldn’t find anything on the topic.
I believe opencutlist can export 2d line drawings with smoothing for arcs. Not sure about ellipses. But you could just make a 15" diameter circle and set the segments to somewhere in the 100s, then use the scale tool to squash it to 9.5" tall and print that.
Have you already drawn the ovals, or is that part of the problem? To draw an ellipse in SketchUp you draw a circle and then scale it in one of the axis directions.
To print at real size, you would be better served to send the model to LayOut, where there is better control for printing to scale.
