I have inserted a SketchUp model into layout and when it askes if I want the point cloud uploaded I say yes and it loads it up and my model pops up for a second and then layout crashes.
It works fine with my model, stays strong as long as I don’t import the cloud. Problem is I kinda need the cloud in there. I have used clouds in layout a ton and even some with similar size to the current one and it may have troubles sometimes rendering them but it never crashes on me. I did just barely updated to the current version of SketchUp and I feel that is where problem is.
Any tips or others having this issue
Hi,
I’m sorry for this.
In order to solve it, could you tell me:
- the sketchup version you used
- the scan essentials version you used
- if you have installed LayOut the last time you updated Scan Essentials
Also, would it be possible to share with me the skp and the associated point cloud so that I can check what is the issue.
Thanks,
YS
Layout Version 26.2.243 64 bit
sketchup version 26.2.243 64 bit
scan essentails 1.2025.1013
WALSH RESIDENCE MODEL 1.skp (8.9 MB)
Heres a link to a drive with the scan in rwp and e57
Hi,
I will test on my side but download will take a bit of time.
In the meantime, what I see as potential issues:
- you dont have the latest Scan Essentials update which may be the main reason of the crash
- you shared with me a rwp but no rwi folder. Could you check that the rwi folder is located near the rwp file ?
Best,
YS
Weird I just updated everything. Ill have to check that.
Ill upload the RWI folder that shows up with the RWP
