PNG Material gets tinted red and cant find any way of resetting?

Hi I have imported PNG image in SU24 Pro as a material and it tints it red and no matter what I try I cant set it back to normal. I have tried reset colour and nothing in styles I can see, I check my PNG if I click edit from materials pallet and it shows as it should…. what could be colouring it?

I saved it out of photoshop 2339 x1653 pixels 200dpi, if I reduce the pixels still same if I save to 16bit it tints it green when I bring it into SU didnt have these issues in SU previous any ideas.

Many Thanks

Sam

Is the image using some other colour space than RGB (you mention 16 bit)?

There is a problem, that we recently fixed (I think the fix is in SketchUp 2026), where if you change the texture for an existing material, it can come in tinted.

The solution, other than trying SketchUp 2026, is to import the file as an image, then right-click, Use As Material, or import it as a material and apply it to a face. After that the material should not be tinted.

But each time I need to edit the material it gets tinted again, my clients at any one time are 90% on SU25 10% SU24 going to 26 will make me incompatible with my clients? … is there going to be a fix for 24 or 25 so my workflow is not affected?.. Thanks

no, the sketchup files are inter-compatible since 2021. moving to su26 means that they’ll get a message upon opening their files telling them that it was made on a more recent version. and off course, anything new in 26 won’t appear in 24. stuff like environments or collaborative work.

no, the only version that’ll get updates is now 26. technically, SketchUp 26 is the fix.
