When opening my model SketchUp is saying “this does not appear to be a SketchUp Model” - I am supposed to be presenting this TODAY and I can’t retrieve anything. I am freaking out. Can someone please please help me??
Can you attach your model file to a post here so someone can take a look?
Have you searched your hard drive for the same file name with the extension .skb? (this is a backup file)
Are you saving your file locally on your hard drive or saving it on a cloud service?
Have you made any Layout documents that include this file?
The backup file for a SketchUp model has an extension of .skb. If you are trying to open that file it will show the message you’re seeing. Make sure it’s the .skp version of the model that you are opening.
Also look in this folder to see if there is a copy of the file there:
%LocalAppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2019\SketchUp\working\SKETCHUP\RecoveredFiles
You can copy the text I gave and paste it into the path field in a File Explorer window, to get to the right folder.
