My backup file said "this does not appear to be a sketchup model"

So I was working with a small file that I stupidly forgot to save. It was a 30 minutes of work and I might just close the window and clicked no for saving.
The I managed to find a file that supposed to be the backup or something. I forgot what was the format (SKB or something?), but I rename it with something I will remember with .skp at the end.

It ended up shows “this does not appear to be a sketchup model” when I open it. I’ll upload the file here
Masuk Mall - Basement-0.skp (3.6 MB)
just in case anybody can recover it. Thanks in advance guys.

Does the .skp open minus the work done since the previous save?

Some parts of the file seem to have been overwritten. I could not find enough in the file to recover anything.

It doesn’t open at all. As far as I remember, I haven’t save anything during the work.

Thanks for trying, Colin.
So there’s nothing I can do for now?

If Colin couldn’t salvage anything there is indeed nothing you can do except start over.

Can you help me repair this same issue for me? It shows “this does not appear to be a sketchup model” when I open skp and skb file in sketchup 2022 version .

You must share your file so others can try to open or repair it.

You can also try this:

1 - Start a new model with SketchUp.

2 - Import the skb file.

What version of SketchUp are you really using? Your profile says “Free Plan” 2022. There is no such thing.

We’ll try. You have to make the file accessible.

And fix your forum profile.
