Hi all, I’m continually getting an error message that I can’t get around and need help, sketchup 2023/2024 has worked fine on my computer for nearly 2 years up until last night.
Now I get a continual BUG SPLAT error (#755077) everytime a file is opened. This error started last night when I installed sketchup 2025 upgrading from 2024. However my university license for 2024 PRO is tied to the 2024 version only. Upon uninstalling 2025, my 2024 version can no longer open any files. I have re-installed the 2024 version multiple times but no luck- my bug splat error message states it may be something to do with an nvidia graphics card (which I have); however sketchup has worked completely fine on this computer for the past 2 years up until last night. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I desperately need this to complete an assignment- thanks!
Thanks, sadly the file is too large, the file does work completely fine running sketchup 2024 on another machine so I’m not convinced the file is the issue, especially as the bug splat occurs when opening any file even brand new ones.
Downloading as an administrator wasn’t an option here because the program runs on a university license, it is installed through something called ‘cloudpaging player’- This is a software agent that lets users run applications on their devices without downloading or installing them- unusual I know, but trust that the program has ran fine for the last 2 years through this method and continues to work fine on my laptop.
Is there a reason your model is pread out across the countryside? The selected portion is more than 2 Km from the origin. Generally it’s best to keep the model close to the origin.
Thank you for exploring the model but I’m afraid same error again. I’m certain the error lies somewhere in downloading sketchup 2025- despite iradicating all 2025 files in attempt to get back to a clean version of 2024 something somewhere has changed something. Thank you for all your help.
SketchUp is not supported in virtual environments so almost anything can have gone awry when installing it. If the environment is set up by your university IT staff you should contact them. Did they create your v.2024 installation? First thing that comes to mind is if the new graphics engine is supported or did v.2024 use the Classic engine?
Hmm I fear you might be right on this one, and I get the feeling they’ll send me straight back here. Later this evening I think I’ll try factory re-setting this PC and re-installing all software; hopefully starting from scratch fixes this issue- thank you all.
