Plant symbols - components

Hello,

I am looking at doing a plant plan in Sketchup and I’d like to use some plant symbols (2D plan view, I’m not doing a 3D view).

Can you lovely people share your sources for the best plant symbols? My thinking is I will insert it into my model, size it accordingly, and then save as a component which I can use over and over. I think this is better than a scrapbook.

Thanks so much

Carla

CAD blocks can be used as components. Just give them a fill/face if you want something more than linework - Vegetation CAD Blocks, dwg:trees, plants, potted plants, bushes

Thank you so much : )

You can use the plants from the layout scrapbooks, then export as dwg and import them from sketchup. By the way it will save you a lot of time making the 3D model then use layout to make all the floor plans and elevations instead of drawing 2D plans on sketchup.

On layout you can set to any scale you want, even create your own scales if there’s not the scale you need. You must make sure that the object you want to scale fits into the A1 paper size, it doesn’t matter if the scale is small, if the project is too big you’ll need to either use a smaller scale or a bigger paper size.
