Unreal dude!
Now…can you build something else from the parts? How about a competition?

I wonder too - there are so many specialized parts that the result might look like a Millenium Falcon of a slightly different shape. You can make more things with 671 similar standard bricks than 671 different parts. When as a child I was given some Lego set I might have used the instructions to build the thing once, but after that the parts were blended in with my previous bricks and parts to build something completely different.

Here is my go at it with V-Ray.
The model is really stunning, the details are incredible. Fantastic work, @TheOnlyAaron !

Here is the high-definition image: https://files.getskatter.com/misc/Falcon.jpg

  • Adding reflection and beveling to the materials: 5 min
  • Finding a good HDRI and throwing a couple extra lights: 5 min
  • Creating a wooden table and adding pieces of Lego with Skatter+MSPhysics: 5 min
  • Render in 4K: several hours

@jiminybillybob, don’t try to fool us, this is the real thing that you have on the table, not a render, :upside_down_face:

oh no, you broke parts!

Right - so who’s doing MSPhysics video of this getting hit by lasers?

Stunning! Before I read your text I thought you had bought and built the thing just to teast Aaron.

(Only tell tale I see easily of this being a 3d model is that the satellite dish could do with some more segments.)

And you have to enlarge the image to see that…

Beautiful job!!

That, and the refraction on the cockpit which distorts the inside way too much. I’m not sure why this is, I wasn’t able to fix it easily.
And also if you zoom way in, you’ll see that the beveling is exaggerated compared to the real deal. This is actually intentional on my part, because it makes it catch the light a bit more, so that the viewer can read the details more easily.

What about the missing word “LEGO” on every single raised dot? That was the only major tell for me. After that I noticed the exaggerated bevels. But this is an amazingly realistic render! Great job!

That’s because it’s actually the Lepin model

Increasing the file size limit on Warehouse would be a good idea, just like Youtube dealt with videos longer than 15:00 minutes back in the day.
And yeah, I have a 160MB New York City model who’s dying to see the light of WH

Alas… adding the geometry of LEGO on every stud would have made the model far too big to manipulate!

Different satellite dish / antenna. To avoid segmented (foldable) dish?

I can only imagine!
I was only referring to the one thing that tipped me off that his render wasn’t real

Nice depth of field too. V-Ray does depth of field?

The Lepin model is a carbon-copy of the Lego model. Both have two different antennas that you can swap (the round dish from the original trilogy, the rectangular one from the latest trilogy)

Sure!

Rectangle shaped radar dish on the falcon was introduced in TFA - the dish was added after the falcon lost the round dish during the destroy of the second death star in ROJ.
In the Rise of Skywalker the falcon gets the round radar dish back - but a bit bigger.
