Persistent Startup Crash #79750 in SketchUp 2026 - Even after C++ and Graphics Engine Reset

Hi everyone,
I am experiencing a persistent crash (BugSplat #79750) immediately upon launching SketchUp 2026. I have already sent several BugSplat reports with my email.

Despite receiving the notification: “SketchUp may have crashed when running its new graphics engine. Instead, we’ve defaulted your modeling window to use classic graphics engine,” the software continues to crash on startup.

Here is a list of everything I have already tried to fix it:

  1. C++ Redistributables: Repaired and reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 (both x86 and x64) and performed a “Repair” on the SketchUp 2026 installation as Administrator.

  2. Plugins: Renamed the Plugins folder to ensure no third-party extensions are loading.

  3. Graphics Engine: Attempted to force the Classic engine

  4. Clean Reinstall: Deleted the AppData folders (Local, LocalLow, and Roaming) for SketchUp 2026 and reinstalled using the full Offline Installer as Administrator.

  5. Preferences: Renamed PrivatePreferences.json to reset all settings.
None of these steps have resolved the issue.
Could anyone please look up my crash ID #79750 and let me know what is causing the initialization failure?
    System Specs:
    OS: Windows 10
    GPU: Radeon 6800 xt
    SketchUp Version: 2026
    Thank you for your help.

@colin

The crash type you are seeing has come up a lot, and the majority of cases are people using Lumion. Could you try disabling Lumion, and see if there is less crashing?

That won’t help you if you need to use Lumion all the time, but it would help to narrow down what is causing the crash.

@colin yup that literaly fixed the problem, removed the lumion plugin in the %AppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\SketchUp\Plugins directory and it worked. Thanks

Thanks. Windows 11

this worked for me on Windows 11. sketchup 2026 was working perfectly on Windows 10 after the upgrade to Windows 11 I started having this issue and after trying this solution it worked like a charm
