Another day, another problem with pattern fill. In the attached screenshot, I am trying to pattern fill the cast in place concrete. I drew the diagram in SU and imported into Layout to apply patterns and measurements. I am now having trouble applying the pattern so that it fills the appropriate area but doesn’t cover up the diagram details. Sending it the back hides the pattern fill completely. Is there a way to make the sketchup window transparent so you can see through it when I send the pattern fill to the back?
The simplest way would be to apply the pattern materials in SU instead of Layout.
A second option would be to put the rebar on a different tag within SU. Then you can stack a SU viewport with just the rebar on top of the LO pattern fill.

Just discovered a solution. I went into sketchup and deleted the face out of the concrete areas. The pattern shows through quite well.
That works too. I was just editing my reply to add that as the third option.
How about using stacked viewports and Layout layers with tagged objects in the sketchup model?
This is a powerful option that is underused. You don’t need many stacked viewports to do really amazing things. However, you do have to understand Layout Layers and how to control the stacked viewports.
