Paid SketchUp Go does not save to SketchUp 2017

I paid for SketchUp Go thinking it would help me fix some things but the web interface is crippling me. I want to go back to using SketchUp 2017.

  • SketchUp Go does not have a method to save to SketchUp 2017.
  • Apparently, SketchUp Web has it but all links point me back to SketchUp Go.
  • I tried exporting to Collada but on import, I saw a bunch of lines cutting across the drawing.
  • I tried the plugin ene_open_newer_version_v1.0.7.rbz but it can’t convert 2026 files.

How do I convert a SketchUp Go file to SketchUp 2017?

I am running on Mac OSX.

Export a .stl file from Sketchup Go and import that in SketchUp Make.

Fwiw the ability to save backwards was removed several years ago.

It’s not letting me open it.
Apple could not verify “SaveAs 2017.app” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.

I don’t see an option for .stl in the list.

Navigate to Mac System Settings > Privacy & Security to allow the app. However you can decide it yourself to trust or not. (I believe this app is okay).

It’s in the Download menu:

you can also right click on it and choose open. it bypasses some of the warnings.
and yeah, as far as I’ve used it, it’s safe.
