[PAID JOB] Seeking Structural VDC Modeler for High-End Residence (Framing & Steel Focus)

Hi everyone,

I am looking to hire a SketchUp expert with a strong background in VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) or structural drafting. We are in the pre-construction phase of a high-end custom home and require a highly accurate “digital twin” of the structure based on our engineer’s drawings.

This is NOT a visualization/rendering job. I do not need textures, lighting, or furniture. I need a virtual build of the structural bones of the house.

The Project:

Type: High-end custom residential.

Inputs Provided: Full set of Structural Engineering drawings (PDF/DWG) and Architectural plans.

Goal: To verify constructability, catch clashes between steel/framing and architectural intent, and visualize complex connections.

The Scope:

Foundation: Accurate modeling of footings, stem walls, piers, and slab steps.

Steel: Modeling of all structural steel (beams, columns, posts) per the schedule.

Framing: Modeling of floor systems (joists/trusses), wall framing (studs, headers, rough openings), and roof framing (rafters/trusses) accurately representing the load path.

Technical Requirements:

Solid Modeling: All geometry must be “watertight” solids.

Strict Organization: Mastery of the Outliner and Tags is non-negotiable. I expect a clean hierarchy (e.g., Level 1 > Steel > Beams).

Components vs Groups: Must utilize Components for all repetitive elements (joists, studs) to allow for easy updating.

Plugin Proficiency: Experience with Profile Builder 3 or Quantifier Pro is highly preferred.

Deliverables:

• A clean, optimized .skp file organized by structural material and building level.

To Apply:

Please DM me or reply here. When you apply, please include:

1. A brief mention of your experience with structural modeling.

2. A screenshot of the Outliner/Layer setup from a previous project (to demonstrate organization).

3. An example image showing a model in X-Ray or Wireframe mode.

Thank you.

you need to look for Bob McCarter at Clear Plan Modeling: https://clearplanconsulting.biz

I’m capable (see this post), but not sure of the schedule commitment at this time. I would suggest Bob McCarter as well.

I would also highly recommend Bob McCarter or Robert Coolidge (@RTCool) or any of the designers who have been contributing to this thread:

All of their work is insanely detailed and equally impressive.
