What do you get with Chrome? When is the last time you did a cold reboot?
Just tried it in Chrome, same problem. I havenât done a cold boot in awhile, I will try next.
Just did a cold reboot and still the same issue. Open Sans Regular is the only option.
Correction I am using Windows 10
I just tried a laptop with Windows 10 and the 3D text worked as normal. I must be having an issue with Windows 10 on my desk top computer. I assume I need to reset my computer. I have never reset Windows before so I will have to read up on it. Thanks very much for all your help everyone.
I had first tried Windows 11, but also now have tried Windows 10. Still see all of the fonts.
Thanks Colin.
It would definitely be interesting to know what is different on your computer compared to your laptop, Colinâs computer, and mine. Clearly itâs not a SketchUp bug. Must be something else.
I will let you know after I do a Windows reset. I will talk to my computer guy on Tuesday about resetting Windows. The fact that the fonts were always working until a couple of weeks ago on my desk top must mean my Windows has developed a glitch.
You may need to install the fonts on your computer, probably they got deleted.
These fonts are downloaded from the SketchUp app folders, when they are needed. The Open Sans font is used in the home page of the app, and so will be loaded ok before you try to make 3D text. All of the fonts should also load if you get Entity Info on a single text element, and try to change the font.
The fonts all come from the same folder, and so if security settings let through Open Sans, the others should get through as well.
The fonts used in SketchUp for web are not system fonts loaded on the computer.
Perhaps clearing some caches and temp files would help, and force SketchUp Free to reload itself completely. Does @colin have some more specific ideas?
If I saw the problem for myself I would try things like that.
I will ask the web team for ideas tomorrow.
Clearing the cache didnât help, still only one font.
Hi Guys, I am in a different city this morning on a new computer with Windows 10 and I still have the same problem. I only have Open Sans as an option for 3D text.
@Wildwalker This has been identified by the development team as an intermittent issue so it is likely that nothing is wrong with your computer. In my own testing it appears to occur randomly once every 10 times or so that I load the app. Your unique hardware and software configuration may cause it to occur much more often. A workaround may be to reload several times to obtain a âgoodâ load. It should function normally until you reload again.
Amazing, I just tried to load it again and for the first time in a couple of weeks I have all my fonts.
Thanks Paul,
