Old versions of SketchUp Make

I would like to upgrade to the latest version (not Pro) but have many files that were made with SketchUp Make 2017. Is there a way to save those files? If so, which version should I get?

Thanks for the help,
Jim

SketchUp 2017 Make is the last version of SketchUp Make. If you want to use the current free offering, that’s SketchUp Free. It’ll open SketchUp 2017 files with no problem. SketchUp 2017 Make is still available for non-commercial use as before, though.

Thanks Dave, that’s what I wanted to know. I will get SletchUp Free.

As you may discover shortly, one does not really “get” or acquire SketchUp Free - it is a web-based service, running in a web browser.

what happens when my internet connection goes down (which happens pretty frequently around here)

SketchUp Free requires an internet connection to get it started, to access the 3D Warehouse, autosave and to save to your Trimble Connect account. Otherwise it’s just running in the browser. I’ve modeled pieces of furniture with SketchUp Free with the internet shut off and had no problems. If that’s a concern for you, stick with SU2017 Make.

Thanks Dave

Maybe it should also be mentioned that SketchUp Free does not support extensions!
