Okay I paid for it now HOW do I "launch" it?

This is frustrating! I paid the $119.00 annual fee for the “Advanced” level. so they took the payment, but then …

I guess this is not a download onto my computer level, but WTF?!? Not a single word, or link, or ANYTHING to tell me how to ACCESS the program online!

What am I MISSING?

Joe

the Go version you paid is not the version you download on your computer.

It’s the version in your browser, the version for ipad, and some extra tools

So… On your ipad, log in with your account I guess.
and on the web version… just go ! (pun intended)

The version that you download and install is the PRO version. it includes all you get from the GO plus a more advanced software.

What a clusterf*%k! Thank you for the LINK! I ran all through the TRIMBLE site looking for a way to access the plan I purchased. There is NO help on how to find it.

Joe

have you checked your profile ?

on SU’s website, top right, the small person icon, you can choose “my apps” in this menu, it’ll show you the apps you have currently.

(I have a pro account so it shows me the pro perks)

Hi, yes, and thank you for your help. I was able to get to that page, but clicking on anything produced nothing. It was very frustrating!

Where is the SIMPLE, “Thank you for purchasing the Sketchup GO level of our software. Here is the DIRECT LINK to access the program…” ??

Joe

because you’re getting access to several programs.

so instead of giving you a mail with a list of links, SU for ipad, SU web, 3d warehouse, Trimble Connect, desktop viewer & al. they put everything in your profile page.

,
even here ? that’s odd.
here

but at least now it works

Hi,

Yes, I see that NOW. The “Launch” links did not appear at first. I guess it takes time to get the profile set up?

Thank you for your help! I am happily designing things already in GO.

yes, I’m not privy to the backoffice stuff, maybe they just needed to process your payment or something.

that’s the most important thing here.

happy modelling, and don’t hesitate posting stuff in the #sketchup:gallery to get feedback when you feel like it !

I will post anything worthy of sharing. I am mainly using this to draw 3D versions of projects. For example, I designed folding retractable window guards for my home and shop. 39 windows total, each 36" x 79". They will be stainless steel frames that fold up into a canopy over the windows, using small, geared motors and cables, etc. They will serve two purposes… For storms and tornadoes, they will drop a 14 gauge stainless steel shield over all of the windows to protect them from flying monkeys, and other things that might be airborne.

Also, when I head out on a trip for any length of time, I can fold them down into the locked position, to help reduce the chance of a home burglary. My home is rural, and not “watched” as closely as I would prefer.

I have seen the store bought window guards. They are boring and ugly. i have a cnc plasma table, so my shields will have nice designs cut into the steel, so they are still “decorative” while serving their intended purpose.

I don’t see a way to post .jpg images here. Maybe Google Photos? Tell me if you can view this one …

Joe

just slide the photo into the text area when you type your message, and leave the forum time to upload and process it. as soon as it appears on the right, you’re good.

Thanks!

Joe
