Object Lines showing Thru other Objects

Hello All!
I have encounter a new problem with Sketchup that I haven’t been able to solve. I have created some ‘risers’ and ‘Flats’ in SU with the joists and stud walls. The lines for the frame work is showing on the ‘facing’ on the objects. Some are only 3/16 thick but the rest are 3/4in think and both of them are bleeding the frame. I have never encountered this problem before. It is not back edges. I have turned that on and off several times and no luck. What am I missing? Thanks so much for your help.

Here is the link to my model.

That bleed through isn’t uncommon when the skin is so thin. As you zoom out the relative distance between the camera, the front face of the skin and the framing behind is reduced. At some point your computer’s graphics card starts seeing that difference in the distances as nearly 0 and then you get Z-fighting or that bleed through. The normal way to handle it is to give the frame members a tag separate from the skinning panels and for scenes where the bleed-through is likely, turning off the framing tag.

BTW, make sure you are staying on top of proper tag usage. Only groups and components should get tags, not edges or faces. Not many in your model needed fixing but still.

Also keep an eye on texture sizes. It’s not useful to have hi res textures like that first one in the list.

As Dave says, easiest with a tag, but you can also hide the top edges of the components underneath, as you see here no bleed on the upper row.

Thanks guys! I will give tagging and check my texture sizes. I’m still kinda new to this and this is the first REAL BIG project I have done. And I have to share it with people who aren’t as technical minded so I am concerned that bleeding of the lines will confuse them. But with all that in mind I’ll go thru and clean everything up.

Thanks again!
