Not able to extrude a door in one specific wall

Hi everyone, I’m a relatively new user of SketchUp. Currently building a model of a home and for some reason, I can’t extrude a door opening in one of the bedroom walls. See screenshot to see which wall. I also attached the model itself. Even when I try to delete that extra line, the entire wall gets deleted/opened up. I’ve tried deleting that wall, seeing everything with Xray mode, but to no avail. Can anyone help? I would so appreciate it!!

The face is modeled off axis. All of the X-values in the coordinates should be identical but they aren’t.

There’s other areas like that, too. I notice that you’re working with Length Snapping enabled. This commonly causes issues like this.

The common wisdom is to turn off Length Snapping for precise modeling.

Also look at what happens if you erase that vertical edge in the moiddle of the wall. You should be able to erase it and have the face remain. This indicates the edges top and/or bottom aren’t in the same line.

I would suggest erasing those edges and redrawing them on axis.

Dave you are amazing! Thank you so much for this thorough response. I just re-did that section and it all works now  Appreciate your quick help!!
