Non Transparent Clipping Mask?

Is it possible to make a clipping mask that is not transparent? I want to overlay the clipping mask on a solid fill black background. I can set fill and transparency on the shape mask so that it is visible when laid over the background by itself but when the clipping mask is created with a viewport, the result is transparent and the background swallows it. Arrange: Bring to Front / Send to Back has no effect. (The shape mask, viewport, clipping mask, and background are all on the same layer)

My workaround is to place a separate non-transparent filled shape onto the background, then put the clipping mask over it and bring it to the front.

Share the LayOut file so we can see how you have it setup.

What happens if you use additional layers to simplify having to move things from front to back?

Do you have the background on or off in the SketchUp model pallet?

No difference using layers. Background is off. The results are the same using a viewport as the background or a simple shape.

Interesting that using a color other than black on the background reveals the black clipping mask edges but not the faces.

Turn the background on in the SKP scene.

How simple. Thanks

That’s why I asked before… I should have been direct and said ‘turn on the background!’
