I am brand new to sketch up. I have been using dynascape for years and so am not completely new to using auto cad.
On sketch up I seem to not have any inference. I attempted to fix this by going under ‘view’ and looking for ‘inference’ to reference the inference settings and there is no ‘inference’ tab.
SketchUp is about as completely different from AutoCad as you can get. Inferences are always on. In a new empty model the only thing you can infer to is the origin point.
Thank you very much for informing me about my ignorant auto-cad comment. I will note that for the future.
I will also look into the free course - however I have taken some beginning courses via zoom. I am re-watching the recordings for practice and I noticed on the teachers screen that it shows inference lines when his cursor is on his screen. It does not on mine. I am simply inquiring to see if anyone knows how to do that.
I don’t know what you mean by that. Inferences show with different coloured dots on your cursor, with an accompanying tooltip. Do you mean that the instructor had his cursor crosshairs turned on (Window menu>Preferences>Drawing)? They are helpful to some people but they don’t infer to anything.
Yes sir! Thank you so much for your help with this - I could not quite figure out how to word my question well. Thank you for both your patience and help.
