New to the community... Issues with Layout constantly freezing

I’ve been using Sketchup and Layout for about 10 years professionally, and Layout has become unusable lately. It either takes literally minutes of “not responding” to do even the simplest tasks or freezes entirely. I’m willing to accept that is is user error, but to my knowledge I haven’t been doing anything differently. Can someone please give me a hand?

The first question is always “can you share the file?”
The second question is are you really on 2023, or can you update to 2025? If you are on a newer version, can you update your profile?
Third thing is “in what version was the model originally created?”

Thanks for responding so quickly.
I can share the files… both the Sketchup and Layout file.
I created it in 2023, but I just updated to 2025 to see if it helped, and it didn’t.

What is it you’re doing in LayOut when you experience the slow behavior? I haven’t seen anything in either your SketchUp or LayOut files that should create any problems. There aren’t any of the usual suspects either. Updates occur nearly instantly for me in LO2025 on Windows.

Where are you saving the SketchUp and LayOut files while working on them?

Pretty much any change hangs up the drawing. Resizing the viewport takes minutes, or just freezes indefinitely. Changing line weight. I’m unable to change to hybrid render at all. It just freezes and I have to close out of the program.

The files are being saved in a job folder on my hard drive… a subfolder under “Documents”.

These are my computer specs, and I’ve attached a video. In the video, for some reason the popup screen isn’t visible, but I open the menu and attempt to change the render mode to hybrid, and it freezes up.
