I don’t really know the correct term for what im trying to do. When i send the project to layout then doubleclick on the scene thats when it start freezing the progam. When i switch camera tools the program also freezes.
Hmm… I opened your test file, sent it to LayOut and then double clicked into the viewpoort and orbited, zoomed, and panned with no problem. This implies to me perhaps there’s a hardware issue on your end. Try the same thing with a model withOUT the location content. Make a file with just the boxes and try the same thing. Do you see a difference in behavior?
In any case, I would strongly urge you to use the correct workflow. Create scenes in the SketchUp model with the views you need. Then in LayOut, select those scenes for the viewports. Don’t double click into viewports to zoom, orbit, or pan the camera. You’ll save yourself a lot of headaches that way.
In LayOut’s Preferences untick the box for Enable SketchUp model editing so double clicking won’t do anything.
When disabling “Add Location” addon the viewport orbiting, zoom and panning works without any lag.
I uninstalled the addon through the the extension manager and then repaired the software. However this did not solve the issue.
It’s worth mentioning that i recently reinstalled my computer. Before the reinstallation layout worked without any issues. Could it be related to cache or anything simular?
Is there anything else i can try to “repair” the “add location” extension?
That’s not what I was suggesting. Only that you try a model that had no location data imported into it.
The Add Location extension should have nothing to do with the lagging you describe.
It could be that you didn’t install SketchUp and LayOut correctly. Correct installation on Windows requires that you right click on the downloaded installer and select Run as administrator. You could close SketchUp and LayOut, find the installer in your Downloads folder, right click on it, choose Run as administrator, and then pick Repair. After it completes do a power-off reboot of your computer and see what happens.
And also use the correct workflow when working between SketchUp and LayOut.
What graphics engine do you have selected in SketchUp’s Preferences>Graphics? What graphics engine in LayOut’s Preferences>Performance? Is there any change if you select the other options?
Your profile shows you have an nVidia GPU. Go to the nVidia site and get their latest drivers for it to install. Then do a cold reboot of the computer.
