nEVEn Free - Scan SketchUp Models for Stability & Performance

Hello everyone,
I’m Nilesh, an architect.

I built nEVEn (read like uneven) to help diagnose and reduce SketchUp slowdowns, crashes, and viewport lag in large production models.
I’m looking for SketchUp users who regularly work with large production models and are willing to test the limits of this tool.

Try it on your largest production models and let me know where it breaks, struggles, or produces unexpected results.

What does your tool do. Does it modify our model, or just generate a report of suggested fixes? I have a few large models I can throw at it.

"it can do both, depending on what you want to do.

features like scanning your models and give you diagnostics, reports, and targets to fix. other features let you take action like texture optimization, edge cleanup, or purge/save workflows when you choose to run them.

nothing happens automatically behind your back without user input.

if you have a few large models, i’d love to see how it behaves on them. real-world files are exactly what i’m looking for."

If you just want a model to test, try this. I have it in 3D Warehouse, you are welcome to it. Plant rendering - Model - 3D Warehouse. I made it somewhat early in my SketchUp experience, so it for sure has room for improvement.

thanks for sharing mark. i just ran the scan and honestly, your model is very clean. nEVEn gave it a 99% health score.
it wiped out 84 loose edges, did a quick purge, and used the find targets feature to isolate the heaviest object family into a separate scene so you can review it. good model overall man.
attached the screenshots of what it did. i’m still looking for even more massive or completely un-optimized models to really push the limits of this tool, thanks again

Interface very polished. Nice work. How does it apply suggested changes?

"thanks mark, glad you liked the interface.

changes are strictly manual - nEVEn only suggests or isolates targets, and nothing gets modified unless you click to confirm it (like the edge cleanup or texture optimization )

i’m actually working on a quick walkthrough video/tutorial to show exactly how it handles everything, i’ll post it here as soon as it’s ready."

Do you need to make ANOTHER thread or post about this?

Maybe keep all of your suggestions and updates in a single thread like other developers do?

@N1LESH Please do as Adam suggested. Extension developers are asked to maintain a single thread for each extension. I will move this into the previous topic ( nEVEn - Looking for Early Users & Feedback ). From now on, please keep new posts or updates in this one thread.

my bad, guys. i’m still new to how these forums operate. thanks for pointing it out and moving it to the right place.

will keep all future updates and the walkthrough video right in this thread. appreciate the guidance!

Hi, just a quick update on nEVEn.
The walkthrough series is now mostly live if anyone wants to see nEVEn workflow in action.

One final video is coming next week to wrap up the series. Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Hi everyone, nEVEn v4.34 Hotfix 3 is now available.

• Run Manual Scan with Purge & Save

A one-click workflow has been added to the nEVEn menu.

With a single click, nEVEn will:

  • Purge unused SketchUp data.
  • Save the current model.
  • Start a fresh manual scan.

This is especially useful after working on a model for a while. Instead of manually purging, saving, and then starting a scan, nEVEn now performs the entire workflow automatically, giving you a clean, up-to-date report based on the current state of your model.

• Replace Textures integrated into the OPTIMIZE workflow

The Replace Textures feature is now part of the OPTIMIZE process, reducing manual steps when cleaning up texture-heavy production models.

• Updated toolbar icon

The main nEVEn toolbar icon has been refreshed for improved visibility and consistency.

If you’re working with large or complex SketchUp models, I’d really appreciate your feedback.

Feel free to:

  • Share your experience using nEVEn.
  • Suggest improvements or report anything that doesn’t feel right.
  • Or, if you have a large production model, upload it here. I’ll scan it with nEVEn and share the results, along with any findings or recommendations that may help improve performance and stability.

Thanks again to everyone who has tested nEVEn so far.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experimenting with an optional Native SketchUp appearance for nEVEn and would really appreciate some feedback from the SketchUp community before I finalize it.

The goal is to provide an appearance that suits different user preferences.

The current Dark interface will remain the default experience.

The Native appearance would simply be an optional setting for users who prefer a more traditional SketchUp look.

I’ve attached a couple of comparison images showing the same session in both appearances.

I’d love to hear your thoughts:

  • Which appearance would you use in your daily workflow?

  • Is there anything that could be improved?

  • Any ideas or suggestions?

I’m genuinely interested in community feedback, so please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

nEVEn v5.34 is now available.

This update introduces two major changes:

• New SkecthUp Native White Theme
• New Free Edition & Pro licensing model

The 14-day trial has been removed.

nEVEn Free is now available permanently with unlimited manual scans, while advanced tools remain available with fair monthly limits. nEVEn Pro removes these limits.

As always, thank you to everyone who has shared feedback and tested nEVEn on real production models.
