Need help with a couple of things

Couple of things I could not figure what happen:

1. with the print bucket, I could only the doghouse with plan colors but not texture looks such as selected roof materials and wood for the walls.
2. I did not figure a good way to do a sloped roof with a thickness.
   In addition, if it were a real house for people to be built it would be much more complicated than it seemed. To design anything with specific sizes it is not going to be easy.

To design anything with specific sizes it is not going to be easy.

Have you found that you can type in exact dimensions as you go?
It sounds like you would benefit from watching the basic training videos to get a better understanding of how the software works before you make a decision.
