I haven’t used any advice on here, I just used the bottom to floors I made already without help as a guide and deleted the top two and started again. My brain doesn’t work the same as the advice given so I had to find alternative ways, these would not be considered advisable on this forum, or the right way.
I highly agree about how frustrating the forum UI is for new people to SketchUp how much it changes from desktop to mobile.
I can’t even seem to delete my account which I think would be in everyone’s best interest as I have obviously upset some people unintentionally. When I thanked people for advice in posts, I was just being kind rather than saying “ yes that worked!” I should have been truthful and said, whilst the way you’re doing it as obviously the correct way, I can’t get my head around it and will have to try my own way.
I apologise to everyone I have frustrated.
I have since finished the model but it took me 50 odd hours.
It will probably take me the same time to figure out how to delete my profile etc.
Ideally you may just want to rethink things a bit. Perhaps take a step back and breath.
Trying to delete you content and profile can be problematic and not all together useful, it can be done but is easiest done by a forum moderator.
But simply quietly ignoring your profile and the forum can often be a better solution.
That would allow you to read and interact with the forum in the future if you choose to do so.
We all have our ways of interacting with the world around us, when in a public setting like a forum we need to follow a few basic rules. If we can’t follow what is being said we need to make that known so those trying to help can be more specific.
There is no need for you to not use the forum when you need answers, but it would help if you could accept that we need answers to be able to address your issues.
Thanks for the advice, I have quite bad social skills and other things I’d rather not share. I’ll sit back and watch how the forum works for now. I’ve only seen some replies since looking on my phone , helpful replies that I didn’t see on my desktop. I am deeply sorry for the frustration caused.
