My sketchup animations is showing wire mesh (hide) stuff

Hey, I have one annoying problem, in my file looks all fine but when I do the animation and go to watch, I see the animation is all wired, showing the hidden stuff in a wire mesh way. I don’t know how to fix it.

Someone can help me?

What version of SketchUp are you using?

Share the SketchUp file so we can see what you are working with.

I’m using the 2024 pro

link

this is the problem

Please put that in your forum profile. The number is important.

I asked for the SketchUp model file.

Here is the link

But do you know what is the problem?

Give me a chance to look at your file.

You need to be using tags to hide the walls and other objects you don’t want to see in each scene. Don’t use Hide for that.

Thank you so much. Can you send some video aula explaining how to do that or can you explaining for me how to do that. Thank you again

Thank you, will be so annoying to do a quick animation now, but it is what it is

Thank you for your time, again

Learnning to use the proper workflow in the first place is important. Using tags correctly will actually be easier than using Hide.

This isn’t always the case. I made a video on my home pc where this wasn’t an issue and at my office it is. How would I hide one cabinet and not the other if all my cabinets are on the cabinet layer or tag. Something is going on and I have some parts that are working and others aren’t.

If you need to hide one cabinet and not the others you should give that cabinet a separate tag so you can control its visibility.

Hide is not a good way to manage object visibility between scenes. Do it if you want but it would be better to use tags for that.

This didn’t use to be an issue. It will take way more time to label every part I want hidden just to turn if off and on. Plus, I had some parts working and some were not for some reason. What changed?

Like I wrote, you do what you want to do.

Its actually easier and faster to select and object, hide ( I have a hide hotkey), update the scene (3 steps). It takes more steps to create a tag, find the tag you just created, name a tag, add object to a tag, turn off tag, update the scene (6 steps).

Also When you have numerous tags it takes forever to find the exact one sometimes especially when working with cad files from a professional architect Vs. just hitting the unhide key.

If I have lots of info like 150 Enscape lights I put them on a tag but one or two objects needed for a quick hide is a waste of time. Just don’t bill me for those extra steps if you want to do it that way.

This is only a 2024 issue with the hidden wireframes showing in animation. previous releases did not do this. I have done it this way for years with no issues until 2024.

As I wrote, do it the way you want.

As everyone else also wrote this didn’t used to be an issue.
