My "default tray" (I'm on a mac) keeps exploding into pieces

I know that SU for Mac doesn’t have a default tray. Still getting used to stacking the windows together to simulate it.

I’m on a MBP and use a second monitor, but frequently go back and forth between MBP and MBP + 2nd screen

I’m noticing that when I disconnect the 2nd monitor, my window stack seems to explode and scatter itself. I have to go reenable the windows from the menu and rebuild it. Kind of annoying.

Is this a me thing? Others have this issue?

If it’s a known issue, are there any workarounds?

I have the same issue

I don’t know if it’s a known issue, I usually don’t use my MacBook with another monitor, probably @colin or @TedVitale_SU know something about it.

Anyways, it’s not a secret anymore that there’s a new UI for Mac that is similar to the windows one with docking features for trays and toolbars, what is secret is when it will be released, I hope this year.

Yup, it’s been my pet peeve for years. What I want is the ability to save the preferences for work space layout with names like “work” and “road” to quickly change between favorite layouts. The program already saves this info to put everything back where it was when you relaunch it, but plugging in and unplugging another display messes it up. Since this info is already being saved, being able to save different versions isn’t that big an ask.

It’s possible to manually copy and swap preference files in the Finder, but it’s still a bit of a pain.

When I was on my MacBook with additional screen(s) I used a plugin to manage my windows (it wasn’t just SKP I had issues with). It would (90% of the time) seamlessly rearrange if I changed what I was using, otherwise it was a click away to rearrange everything.

IIRC I was using this:
