Moving between versions

I’m sorry, this is an absolute noob question. But how do I move between versions 2023 and 2024? I have the desktop license, And assume it should not possible to sign out of 2023 and then sign into 2024. I have not been able to successfully do this.

I think he’s talking about upgrading. Correct me if I’m wrong. A lot of people including myself had problems signing into 2024 even after signing out of all copies from our Trimble account online. I eventually had to delete the session.dat file I think it was from my 2024 support files to successfully log into 2024.

Thank you, Mr. Coolidge! Now that you have specified this and rereading the OP’s message, this is most likely the case.

Yes, that is exactly what I’m speaking of. I was tired and I had a hard time putting it into words.

There were some plugins that I did not want to migrate over into 2024, In addition, I did not want to have to load all of my plugins Into 2024 until I was confident about the stability. I was also a little lazy, since shifting licenses when you have a limited number of activation seems a little daunting for me.

I understand the subscription model that everybody is going to but it’s a bit of a pain in the neck.

RTCool, what I’m hearing you say, Infer anyway is that going back and forth between both versions is not going to be easy… is that correct?

Thanks again… I really appreciate support.

In addition, I have done everything suggested by the help prompt found her. https://help.sketchup.com/en/admin/deauthorizing-devices.

I will attmept RTCools suggestion of “A lot of people including myself had problems signing into 2024 even after signing out of all copies from our Trimble account online. I eventually had to delete the session.dat file I think it was from my 2024 support files to successfully log into 2024.”
