More file loading SketchUp Problems

Partly footnote to my problems with Paul Lee’s wonderful book. While waiting to see if something can be done about my problems there, I went back to Aaron Dietzen’s excellent “Taking Skecthup Pro to the Next Level.”

I discovered the example files in his book no longer work properly. I know those used to work, because I finished his book. The specific issue is that when I downloaded them from the 3D Warehouse, they installed with scenes, and I used to be able to move from Scene to Scene and finish the book. Now they are installed as one gigantic object. I have to open the object to get to each individual model, and there are no scene tabs or anything related to that.

It seems somehow related to my problems with Mr. Lee’s files.

So… not sure where to go from here.

Post a link to the files from the3D warehouse so someone else can see if they work correctly. The 3 files posted in your other post work correctly.

I found the files in the warehouse, the scenes all display correctly in the one I tried.
Is this a cr ack version of SketchUp? OR
You might try locating the download with the Installer for SketchUp, right-click on it and choose the “run as administrator” option, then choose the “repair” option.

I’ve paid the rent on SketchUp for years, so it’s not a pirate version. Thanks for the suggestion, I did the repair, all seemed go well, but the problem remains. I’ve attached a screen capture video. I really have no idea where to go from here, since it seems like a problem with my setup. I have tried disabling the new graphics code, that doesn’t help.

I see what you did different this time.

When asked if you want to download the component into your current model:

Choose No. Then you get the actual file, with all of the scenes.
