Hi,

This is mostly just a report of a problem.

I copied a small group and created a new project to work on it. I thought was going to be something fairly quick, but of course it ended up being more in depth. This is why I stupidly didn’t name the file.

I spent probably 45-60mins going in and out of the 3D Warehouse Downloading/Importing different models (probably at least 10-15 different ones), then resizing each of them and moving them around. I then downloaded a large model and received he notice:
Downloading Large Model
“You’ve selected a large model which may slow down SketchUp or cause other issues.”

Model: Beer Liquor Sake Wine Collection by Rabs

The model contained 30+ smaller grouped models (liquor bottles). The model initially imported/loaded fine. I was able to click into the main group, then select some of the smaller groups, and then it stopped responding. I waited, got up and went and did other things for more than 1hr. When I came back it was still not responding and I refreshed back to Home and the file wasn’t in Home or any other folder in my account.

Note: While writing this I created a New Project and tried importing the same 3D Model and it again crashed and did not save the project. I did get it to work by creating a New Project, saving it with a name and then Downloading/Importing the model (it still took a long time to respond).

This is the reason why you should always open a 3DWarehouse model in a separate instance of SketchUp. There are a lot of poorly made models in the warehouse which can cause all kinds of trouble. Opening them in a separate instance gives you the opportunity to inspect for suitability, clean up the model and save that clean model for later use, without risking your current model being corrupted by a bad warehouse model..
