Hello everyone,
I want to build an extension on the ground floor with a single-pitched roof and the two sides of the walls are not parallel.
The roof will be made of polyurethane panels with support every 1 meter on 10x15cm beams
I have designed the beams supporting the panels with 90 degree angles from the fixed side of the house and there is a difference at the end of the roof of about 30cm where the roof rises (reasonable)
I want to know if this way of drawing the roof is useful or if there is any other idea to build it correctly.
In this case, the wooden wall should follow the roof (so it should rise more towards the end) and in this case I should design a triangular wall above the main one or cover it in some other way.
Thank you

2 options:
- sloping wooden wall. (what you suggested yourself) or
- sloping beam attached to the wall (house) and supporting beams perpendicular to the wooden wall.
I personally would prefer the 2nd option…

Fwiw:
I opened your model to check it out and found a number of issues:
- After purging your model the filesize is about 1/3 of your original. Thats after it almost doubled while converting to a 2017 file. (so should be about 1/6th if you purge it.
- All your wall groups are double wrapped in a component. There’s no need for that.
- All your wall studs are groups when they really should be components. If something is used more than once in your model it should be a component!
- All your stud groups are named in an unusable manner. (make components with names that make sense).
- You really should turn off Length-snapping in your template, it’s a good way to introduce tiny errors in your drawing. You can find it in Window - Model info.
Regarding the roof, I thought the high side of the pitched roof would be against a wall of the house, not sticking out above it…
It doesn’t matter, both options are still viable, but maybe in this case there are more options. (Not that my 2 options were the only ones possible in either case!) Especially because you have almost no right angles in your plan view.

Thank you for all the information about the file, it is really very useful and I will follow it!
Now, regarding the wall that is extended above the existing house, it was done because I want to remove windows for lighting.
I will come back with a newer design for another opinion as through your suggestions I have created even more ideas.
You will hear from me soon and I will be happy to talk to you again.
Thank you for your time and support!
