I did all the dimensions correctly (except the MORSE thing) and got stuck here:

The base looks something like this but more curvy!!

Hi Brad. If I told you I’d have to… :smiley:

Don’t think so hard about it. I made that copy of the component unique and then used Eneroth Solid Tools to trim it with a big block. I used the same block to trim a copy of the cover, too. The hatching is just the diagonal sketchy pattern texture that is included in SketchUp.

FWIW, I left the knurling (which is still too small) as components separate from the larger part. I hid the surfaces in the larger part where the knurling goes. That makes it rather trivial to go back and revise the knurling if I decide to revisit the thing and change that detail.
