SketchUp’s Undo stack has a maximum size of 100 entries, regardless of model complexity. You could have a model consisting of only a single edge, and move it around over and over and over 100+ times, and fill the Undo stack. That should not cause the most recent movement action on the Undo stack to be undone upon a Save (regardless of whether the stack is full, the model is complex, etc.).
I’m also experiencing the same issue and I don’t know what might be causing it. I have already purged unused components. I also just ran the clean up tool extension just in case but it still does the thing where it undoes the last action after I save.
I also noticed it doesn’t just happen with one file but with every file I try to save. Do I have to uninstall and reinstall?
Are you running extensions? First idea would be a misbehaving extension. Are yoou saving directly to a cloud location?
I am using extensions. I tried disabling all extensions, apply changes and saving and it still happened. I am not saving into the cloud I’m just saving it in my hard drive
Did you disable all extensions, close and restart SketchUp and confirm that all extensions are not running? Just turning them off will not necessarily stop them. To that end, there are a few out there that will not stay disabled.
It is worth covering this because I feel like we have seen this before and the culprit ended up being an extension trying to edit the undo stack.
I didn’t try that you are right I should have closed the program. But for some weird reason the issue stopped. At least today it doesn’t seem to undo the last action when I save. The thing is I don’t know what caused it and what fixed it so if it happens again I’m screwed again. If it happens again I’ll try disabling all extensions and then restarting SketchUp to see if it was caused by an extension
If you get down to single out an extension or a group of them, go through the commands to see if there is one that resembles “undo last”.
Update: I think I finally figured out the extension that caused the issue. I had installed recently the Skatter extension by lindalë and k think this is the one that was undoing the last action whenever I saved. I uninstalled it and the issue stopped, even after restarting the app. I don’t know if anyone had this issue with this extension
