Missing action buttons on SketchUp 2024 (Febhouse) - Any workarounds while waiting for support?

Hi everyone,

None of the action buttons (Install, Buy, Trial) are showing up for any extension under my developer account (Febhouse) - including Sun Diagram Studio - specifically inside SketchUp 2024 (Windows).

  • SketchUp 2024 is checked in Compatibility settings.

  • The buttons appear and work perfectly fine in SketchUp 2023, 2025, and 2026.

  • Paying customers cannot download or activate their licenses inside SU 2024.

Side-by-side comparison:

As seen in the attached screenshot comparing the exact same listing on the same machine:

  • SketchUp 2026 (Left): Renders correctly with the image preview carousel, developer metadata, and the blue Install button.

  • SketchUp 2024 (Right): The entire media column is missing—no preview images/carousel, no metadata, and no action buttons. The description tab simply expands across the entire window width.

This looks like an unhandled JavaScript error or component failure in the embedded CEF browser on SU 2024 preventing that entire block from mounting.

I submitted a ticket to developer support 9 days ago on Sept 2 (Ticket #4807) but haven’t received a reply yet, and customers are actively waiting for a solution.

Has anyone run into this version-specific issue before? Is there any workaround on the developer side to force the buttons to appear, or does it strictly require Trimble backend intervention?

Any advice or assistance from the Trimble team would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Nam Nguyen - Febhouse

I would really appreciate any temporary workaround for this issue. Customers have already purchased the extension through the Extension Warehouse, but they are completely unable to download or install the software on SketchUp 2024.:face_with_spiral_eyes:

hey,

you’re selling on a website, if the website is broken for a specific version of chromium, you can’t do much on your side no.
if the licencing is within the plugin (not on the warehouse), they could still go to the actual website and download it from there.
it will work for the free version, but the studio one uses the warehouse for licencing so you’re stuck

I’m gonna try to invoke @daniel_pidcock who has been answering things in this area recently. He might know what’s going on.

Exactly. Since paid extensions cannot be downloaded directly via an external browser, I tried sending him the .rbz file directly to install manually via Extension Manager.

Unfortunately, that didn’t work either - the extension fails the Trimble check and returns “No License / Trial Expired”.

Thanks a lot for tagging @daniel_pidcock, really appreciate the help!

yeah, there was the same problem with Eneroth’s plugins, someone bought one years ago and couldn’t re-install it because their version was out of support.

I’m not a dev. Could you guys do something on your end in the plugin? maybe add a way to bypass that ? something like an extra licence check that would use a code YOU provide to the user (valid for a set number of days if you’re using subscriptions)?
I’m not saying you should drop the warehouse system, but for rare cases like that, a way to “manually” authorise a copy ?

With 2027 around the corner (xmas incoming) '23 and '24 users are likely to loose their access to the warehouse soon. This could be a bigger problem for you

Exactly, this has to be on Trimble’s end.

If it were an issue with my files, descriptions, or code, it would also be broken on SketchUp 2023, 2025, and 2026. But they all work completely fine.

The fact that every extension under my profile is missing the sidebar, preview images, and buttons and only inside SU 2024 - means the store page itself is breaking for my account on that version.

As a temporary workaround, I gave the customer a SketchUcation license to buy some time, but they are still waiting for the official Extension Warehouse version they originally paid for. There’s really nothing I can change on my end to fix this.

Agree this looks to be a problem with EW not handling your pages on old versions of Chrome (that 2024 uses). Very odd that it seems fine on all other extension pages I looked at.

I’m not on that team but will nudge people internally

@nghanam the issue appears to be caused by the promo youtube link.

Can you modify it to the form https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID please (from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID), that should help.

Dan

Wow, that was spot on! Changing the promo link format to https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID instantly fixed the issue.

The image carousel, sidebar, and all action buttons (Install/Buy) are now rendering perfectly inside SketchUp 2024. My customer is completely unblocked.

Thank you so much for digging into this and pinpointing the exact cause, Dan! Really appreciate your help!
