I see the icon now. Ive never used it. Had to hunt for it just now.
I have some others report of the copy tool crashing (bugsplat) SketchUp. I need to dig into this one a bit further and figure out what is causing the unstability.
I put out a tutorial out on duplicating walls, you can do the same with roof and floor assemblies:
Once you copy the assembly (using the native tools), regen the assembly, then you will have a completely new and independent assembly.
This ability was added in 2024:
Version 3.7.0 - 07.25.2024
- Added a duplicate wall check to the regen module for all wall types.
Version 3.7.3 - 10.14.2024
- Added a duplicate post check to the regen module for post assemblies.
- Added a duplicate beam check to the regen module for beam assemblies.
- Added a duplicate stair check to the regen module for stair assemblies.
P.S.
I highly recommend that everyone who uses the extensions periodically check the dedicated threads on this forum to review any updates. I have made so many updates in the last few years that I am concerned that many of these updates go unnoticed even by the “power” users. Another good resource is the tutorial videos for each extension and the changelog(s) on the website.
This is great. I just tried straight-copying a wall multiple times and…l
I tried this on a copied roof and it seems to work there too.
