When I attempt to change the color of materials this pops up. Even if I apply the materials to the model I still cannot change the color. Why is this an issue? This used to be such an easy thing to do but now it’s so complicated.
Switch to the In Model colors by clicking on the little house icon. Highlight the material there and then edit it.
Ok, I figured it out, thanks! Why did they do that? It seems like such an unnecessary change.
It mostly was an unnecessary change, but there was a crashing issue that could occur if you renamed a material that was part of a set, and not in the in model set. As changes to the external sets did not get saved, and might crash, the alert was added to make sure you were changing the in model set.
Hi, I think I have the same problem.
When I go to “colors in model” there are only old textures I used long time ago… when I click on the house icon, nothing changes. Can you help?
I uploaded my skp file and a screenshot. Thank you!

@SusanneBerlin I looked at your file, there are only two materials being used in this file. Did you have more materials associated with this file in the past, were they applied to geometry then the geometry was erased. Perhaps the file got purged at some point, which erases any material not currently being used on geometery?
Oh wow! I don’t know why, but now everything is solved. :))
thank you @endlessfix for checking my file!
