Material change when using scaler

Hi,
Usually using a scaler is the good way of not to change the material scale in DCs right. But in this case we have to apply the material on it’s faces, not on the component right.
My question is, in this case can we use the dc option to change the material? Because dc option will apply the material on the component right. Not on the faces.
Is there any solution for this?

change the painted faces to default, then the component material will show, the scaler should still work
