Making compound miters

I was wondering what was the best way to do a compound miter on a octagon with a angled
2 x10 rim. Is there a extension that would make this faster.
Thank You Steve Z.

It’s hard to imagine anything faster than the follow me tool.

Shep

Do what Shep shows. Then, if you want individual components for the sides of the box, draw lines to join inside and outside corners for one piece. Delete the restand make the single board a component. That can be copied around the octagon as a radial array using the Rotate/Copy function.

Thanks again guys that looks a lot easier.

It’s an easy way to create miters on lengths of crown and other types of moldings, too.
