Make Unique option does not exist

I have downloaded Sketchup 2016 and am still on the Pro free trial, I drew one box and made a component out of it, then copied it so I have two boxes. I select one right click and cannot find the make Unique option any ware. What am I missing?

Perhaps you made a group instead of a component? Or you didn’t actually complete the component-making operation. Save and upload the SKP file. It’ll be easier to tell you what happened exactly instead of just guessing.

Island.skp (15.4 KB)

So you made a component, then opened the component for editing and copied the geometry to make what appears to be a second “box”. Since all the geometry for both boxes is within the same component wrapper, you only have one component and it being the only one in the model is already unique.

Copy the component, not the geometry within the component.

Out of curiosity, do you really want to make the right side panel unique from the left?

You have only one component, with both the “walls” or whatever inside it as normal loose geometry.

Thank you much it is fixed now.
