Mac Material Pallete - Section Color

Hey does anyone know how to change the selection highlight color on the Mac material pallet? I see a very dull blue-grey and it is almost impossible to find when I have a ton of materials. I tried the overall Mac system setting for lighting, but it didn’t affect it. I wanted a bright red or orange.

It cannot be changed. Better highlighting of the selected color, text list view of materials, split pallet custom collections like windows has, all part of the long standing Mac materials requests. Not likely to be accommodated until SketchUp abandons the Mac OS system material handling framework and writes their own.

Yeah, instinctively when one starts looking for the sampled color you tend to enlarge the panel, but I have found it to be easier with a really small panel (like only one row of 5 columns. You now only have 5 colors to search for:)

Related to better selection of colour or surface textures on the MAC … I seem to remember there was a capacity to see a list of NAMED colours or textures (ie: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Brick, Walnut etc) but I cannot find this. Is there a way to select a named (and user edited) term and not an image? If so how to I set that?

Not on Mac. :frowning:

Thanks for this hack! Works well because it narrows down the possibilities to one row.
