I came across this site that creates 3D models to order using AI. Just type in whatever you like and download the result…free. Obj format seems the most useful in terms of getting it into SketchUp.

The forms can be a little ‘approximate’, the image mapping leaves much to be desired and the meshes are pretty hi-poly. I’ve also found that the obj file imports really small…like 1:100, but that might be just me and hey, it’s free. This took about 2 minutes after typing ‘elephant’. So, if you’re stuck for some oddball bit of content…
I now expect to see the 3DW full of even more heavyweight models.
