Liserok Visibility Manager [Multi-Tagging] - Beta Testing

@dezmo No problem. :wink:
That’s exactly why I asked, to clarify. And I’m interested in everyone’s opinions. That’s why I put it here for testing. And I like it when someone tells me straight out that something is good or bad. The Modus doesn’t seem “miraculous” to me either. But it’s true that users are used to the Sketchup interface and anything that looks different can discourage or disturb someone.

I forgot to say you did an amazing job on this plugin! I’ve been testing it quite a bit and everything seems to be working perfectly so far!

I did an UI update on to make it look closer to Trimble Modus while still keeping it as compact as possible. I also rearranged rows so they make more sense (at least to me). If you find it useful I can send you the code.

It looks really good. Feel free to send the code. I see some buttons there that I don’t have in the interface yet. I’ll see what I can do with it.

@jure Thanks for sending your edit. I’m comparing it to my default version. Your it’s less compact, but that could be tweaked, I don’t see a problem with that.

I have one question. You merged my ON and OFF buttons into one toggle button. Do you mind now that if not all Markers are on or off, you have to click twice in a row before you get to what you need? Because it has to be in cycling mode now.

I had two buttons on purpose. When you only have something on, then at the moment when you want to either turn everything off or turn everything on, you don’t always do it with one click, sometimes you have to do it with two clicks. But if you don’t mind, you can, of course, save that one button in the user interface, just like you saved it. I had that for a while too, but I went back to two buttons.

How about adding the open and closed eye for visibility, and keep drop down to expand or contract ( i guess on the right side is ok), and add a paint brush icon to apply marker settings, and last a pencil icon for edit. This group of icons can live on the Marker Groups and on the Markers.

I can see that endless rows of repeated icons can look cluttered. How about a single edit icon (or three dots) that pop a menu for all the indirect choices: three dots reveal - name edit, paint marker, new, duplicate, remove (or what ever you features you want for markers and marker groups). Only keep the show/hide eye icons and the expand/contract dropdown

Three dots, maybe it doesn’t make sense, this can easily remain the current right-click popup

No I don’t mind it at all. From my limited time with your plugin I only used the button to turn all markers OFF. And two click to get back all ON seems like a more intuitive way, especially since this is how it’s done in many apps so people are usually used to this. I also wanted to keep one icon that is aligned above the column with the same function so you intuitively know what it is going to do.

OK, In the meantime, I’ve been working with your interface for a while and it really doesn’t matter, it’s not used that often

Definitely interested in this.

David

I’ll send you a private message.

Beta version 09 (1.0.256) is available for beta testers to download.

There are several tweaks based on comments above in the discussions and also based on private messages. This mainly concerns the user interface and improved skin options. WM Info behavior has also been refined. I’m attaching a screenshot of that here for @mark.perrah

Beta version 09 - Skins

The skin system essentially allows anyone with the skills to easily customize the skin to their own behavior if necessary. So far, I have prepared 9 skins. I personally use 04_Compact_Default ones because I like the full-color versions. But someone will prefer the standard one, similar to the SketchUp interface.

I was able to setup a Mac mini with os Monterey. Loaded SketchUp 2025 for Mac and you latest beta was able to install. Adding the key seemed to hand “checking” but I opened the menu and it worked.

I would like to test your plugin - I’m constructing a large house that I want to build for me.

I’m currently using many tags to make my model workable but it has limitations. I have a tag group for each level and in this group tags for walls, windows, door, pipes … - in total about 80.

The limitation comes when you want to see all i.e. windows - a lot of clicks to turn on/off. on the first glance it looks as if your work could be useful for me.

I would like to invest time to see if your plugin can help me and give you feedback (and catch some bugs on the way)

I’ll send you a private message.

Hi @ferol. I would be interested in testing this.

Sure, I’ll send the info in a private message. But it will be a little later, because today while modeling a house for a client I came across a bug and so I started fixing it right away. Then I’ll send the fixed version right away, so you can test the latest one.

Great, thanks for testing. So we have the first confirmation that macOS also work.

If there is anyone else working on Mac OS, they are still welcome to beta test.
