Since I installed Sketchup 2025 Pro I have been unable to get access to my Fredo extensions. I have followed the videos and when i get to where it says install LibFrido6 it will not activate. It is just like I am looking at a static screen.
I was able to get the plugins that I wanted to where they show up as Loaded Plugins. Now the issue is that only one of them appear as an option in the tool bar dropdown. I have restarted and not sure what else I might do.
Then use the Extension Manager to ‘Install’ the RBZ [with the bottom button]
Alternatively, since you say that you were using Fredo’s extensions it’s likely that several of them will be licensed. Use the license files you already have downloaded to license the extensions, freshly Installed.
Because the extensions’ licensing requires both LibFredo6 and the SketchUcation ExtensionStore to be installed you should installed the SketchUcation Toolset from its RBZ downloadable from the PluginStore. Its ExtensionStore dialog lets you browse all of the available plugins and extensions, and select them to auto-install, sidestepping the steps needed with the alternative RBZ download etc…
It seems that the key might be as you suggest, that I need to tell it that I have licenses for all of the plugins I have installed. Is there a video showing exactly how to do that?
You must first install the sketchucation store plugin, otherwise fredo plugins won’t work cause the only way your licenses can be verified is with sketchucation plugin.
Open the sketchucation store, from the extensions menu, search sketchucation and the first option is extension store. There search and install LibFredo6 and all the plugins from fredo you need, restart sketchup, you should be able to use fredo extensions the paid ones will work for a short period of time then you’ll have to buy a license, if trial period has expired, a window will pop up telling you to buy a license, it is a file that you can keep wherever you want in your computer, on the same window there’s a button to activate license, just browse through your files and select the license file.
Sorry, but your last message was oddly somewhat short.
Simply having bought perpetual licenses for extension does automatically give you some magical power to use it. SCF licenses let you license an extension three times - i.e. three users, three computers etc. You can buy the license online at SketchUcation.com or using the button on the dialog which opens for that installed extension’s submenu item.
You need to down load the actual license file for that extension from your MyLicenses page on SketchUcation.com
Keep these somewhere safe on your computer[s] and apply the licenses for the relevant extension using its menu item. That extension is then licensed for you on that computer.
Licenses are almost always ‘Perpetual’ [i.e. lasting forever] but they need to be applied to the relevant extension per user / per computer.
Out of interest, does it count as a new installation if you reset your computer back to factory, and reload the plugins which I tend to do once a year or so. The last time I reset my PC my PDF program with its perpetual licence failed to install because it looked as though I had loaded it too many times, although the PDF company reset everything once I asked.
It depends on what changed during the reset - e.g. if the PC’s identifying code has changed it’s considered a new computer. However you can ‘free’ a license before you make major changes and re-validate afterwards, or use the MyLicenses page at SketchUcation to free licenses, so you then have an available one to use. You need the latest SketchUcation Tools and its licensing set up installing to do this. If you get stuck an email to support at SketchUcation.com explaining the issue, and giving relevant details like member-name and linked-email address, will usually bring a quick fix [albeit inevitably slower that doing it yourself]
