Architectural will show 12’ 4 1/2".
Fractional will show 148 1/2".
It’s a little confusing for me since it does not show this as an option or what either format do in the “model info” menu.
He means SketchUp does not show an example in the Units pane of the Model Info dialog.
Much like a font selection control would show and example using the selected font.
And they are correct. The Display Precision control for Length does not indicate a full example showing both feet and inches for Architectural.
If you look at the dialog the Format control is rather short and has quite enough space to be widened to add full examples, like so:

(I have no idea “how long” is the 12’ 4 1/2" anyway… )
