I’m using Sketchup 24 pro. My layout tray is opening and taking up half the page. I can’t find a solution. I’ve attached an image below.
Have you tried dragging its left edge over to the right?
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I’ve tried everything, dragging the left edge, the right edge, rebooting, checked preferences. It doesn’t happen every time I use Layout, which is every day, all day, but it’s happening again this morning. I even opened Layout 23 and have the same result. My associated is not having the same problem with his Layout and has never seen it on his screen.
By the way, I can drag the left edge to the left and cover the whole screen but I can’t drag it right.
What happens if you dock the tray? Double click where it says Default Tray.

I’m not familiar with the term, dock the tray. I double clicked on Default Tray and nothing happened.
In your screenshot the Default Tray is not docked in the LayOut window. There’s a dark gray gap between the top toolbar area and the tray.
Mine is docked. You can see the difference.
Did you install SketchUp and LayOut correctly? On Windows that requires right clicking on the downloaded installer and selecting Run as administrator.Try repairing the installation. Close SketchUp and LayOut 2024. Find the installer in your Downloads folder. right click on it, choose Run as administrator, and when presented with the options, choose Repair. After it completes do a power-off reboot.
If that doesn’t fix it. Close LayOut, go to Username/AppData/Local/SketchUp/SketchUp 2024/LayOut and delete layout.private.json, Then open LayOut again.
I did the repair. It’s operating differently and I think it’s fixed. Before, I didn’t have the little push pin icon on my tray. I had never used the hide tray feature before. not sure if I like it but it may come in handy for more screen space.
Thanks for your patience. I believe the issue has been resolved.
I’ll update my profile.
You didn’t have the push pin because the tray wasn’t docked. Now it is.
So far I’ve never found a need to hide the tray but you might. The pin is not a huge thing and you can just ignore it. I do.
Good deal. And you’re quite welcome.
