A ‘DadLo’ with a user preference color would help…
Being able to turn rotate off would be a really cool feature. I have never used it intentionally. If my plans are the wrong way I turn them in sketchup. More freely made drawings are a better candidate for rotating, I guess. But I’m never gonna rotate my perspective view drawings upside down either, and not the text and the leaders, and certainly not my dimensions.
To have a rotate tool would bring the ease of familiarity that its just the same as in sketchup. Nobody would ask how it works, cause It just works the same way, and I could use it if I really needed it. And then I didn’t have to deal with the “constant suggestions” from the Layout UI, to do things I would really never want to do.
Being able to move things is good. Should be a move tool for that, so that I can use it when I want it and not move things when I dont want it.
To make the controls not centered in my work zone could work too. Handles by the corners are used by many pro graphics apps, and I haven’t heard anybody say those are in the way. My viewports that I dimension and annotate are my work space. I dont want my viewports to go anywhere, expect I sometimes need to move them back into place if I updated the scene in sketchup with different panning position.
Back in the day we used to tape out drawings to the desk. I would rather have that tool than the random-rotate function.
In SketchUp I always have the front of the property aligned with SketchUp’s front.
In Layout I will often rotate the plan viewports according to how I want to present them…
yes, that certainly needs to be possible.
