Hi I am attempting to update my layout from sketchup pro 24 with no luck. I havnt made any changes to settings - just the model. Can anyone advise please?
thanks
What happens when you try updating? Can you share the .skp and .layout files you’re working with?
Send by PM if you don’t want to make them public.
In LayOut go to File>Document Setup>References. Does the SketchUp reference file show as Embedded? If not, does the path for the SketchUp reference match the path for the SketchUp file you’ve been editing?
Select the viewport on the page in LayOut and look at the SketchUp Model panel. Do any of the scene property categories show a Reset button?
Thanks Dave
Where do i check the path info matches from layout to sKup? - ive found the numbers in layout as you suggested but how do i find this info in Sketchup?
thanks Jo
Hi Jo,
The numbers in the file name aren’t important but it should show the same folder as your SketchUp file is in. What does it show for the reference’s status?
I cant expand the box to see the exact file name!
Can you drag out the File Name colum to show the entire path?
Grab the gray vertical line immediately to the left of Status and drag it to the right.
Its not very obvious how to do that - sorry Dave im a nightmare!
You’re not a nightmare!
Check your PMs.
I have done it - didnt even see a grey line! I think where im going wrong is that each time i open sketchup it opens a recovered file. Why does this happen Dave? is there a fault or does this happen to eveyone?
If SketchUp crashed at some point while the model file is open, you will be given the choice to open the recovered file or the original. Normally you would open the recovered file and then save it to replace the original.
