I’ve got the file. As soon as I get back from letting the dog out I’ll see what I see.
Alright, so I see your file is quite large. I went through my standard cleanup process.
Fixed incorrect tag usage:
All edges and faces should be created and remain untagged. This incorrect tag usage may have come in with components from the 3D Warehouse.
Purge unused content.
Your model has a huge number of components and materials as it is. No need to be hoarding ones that aren’t being used.
Of the remaining materials there are a few that are larger than they need to be for what they do.
If you are going to use components from the 3D Warehouse, don’t put them directly into your project. Download them into a separate SketchUp session so you can inspect them, clean them up if needed or reject them and look for something else. Once you’re satisfied that the component is suitable, copy it into your project.
Suitable means the file isn’t bloated with tons of edges and faces as those brown chairs with the pillows in them. Also avoid components that contain a lot of detail that can’t be seen in your model. If the detail doesn’t add useful information your model, don’t add it.
I notice that most of your geometry for the building is ungroup. You need to be making use of groups for that geometry. Give the objects tags and use them to control the visibility of said objects for your scenes. Using tags to set the visibility of the objects will carry over into LayOut which should allow you to get away with fewer scenes.
I’ll share the file shortly.
Thank you for all of the information. Do you do private sessions so that you might be able to show me how to do some of these things?
