LayOut font issue between Apple and Window worlds

I have read the discussions of discrepancies between PC/Mac fonts and how it makes it difficult to collaborate between users with different machines. I was wondering if I put Parallels/Windows on my Macbook Pro and run SU/LO on the Windows side, would that solve the issue. Would LO utilize Windows Fonts or the fonts in Apple’s Font Book app. Thank you!

No. Each OS handles fonts in their own way.

yeah, there was a similar case 2 years ago, trebuchet not behaving the same on pc and mac, turns out some default fonts aren’t actually exactly the same.
